Tacoma Diesel is a family owned and operated business. Jim Porter founded Tacoma Diesel and Equipment Inc. in the 1970's and was known as the Jim Porter Company prior to that time. The success story of this man starts in the Bering Sea as a crew member on a king crab boat. His insight into the dangers and risks of this fishery has carried over into his business principals. Quality work and a timely response are our trademarks in business. We are an authorized, full service, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, Yanmar, Kohler and Perkins dealer.
